Chad + Rick (affectionately referred to as Chadrick by loved ones) recently shared vows under a magnificent 100-year-old cork tree at Ru’s Farm in Healdsburg. The grooms joined hands at the top of the aisle and walked down together, before reflecting on their journey together and the importance of bravery and patience. It was an emotional ceremony, with tears shed from the very start.
After the “I dos”, guests sipped on crisp rosé, lemonade, and signature cocktails, surrounded by fragrant fields of lavender and a view of the vineyards in the Alexander Valley. The weather was abnormal for a California summer, with the sky drastically changing from one hour to the next. The day was filled with dramatic clouds and several sunshowers, but the light rain never threaten the celebration.
After a beautiful fresh summer meal, a rainbow appeared over the vineyards (a fitting coincidence with Pride month) and the couple’s nephew opened the barn doors to reveal Chadrick in a dashing white tuxes. They took to the dance floor and the crowd went wild. Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers brought a New Orleans flavor and ushered guests to the barn with a full horn section and vibrant “little big band" jazz tunes.
